Get to know Insured Solutions’ project manager Kayla Park with this Q&A!

Q: Where you were born?
A: I was born in Duluth, GA, on March 29 at Joan Glancy Memorial Hospital.

Q: Where did you go to school?
A: I went to North Gwinnett High School, but graduated from homeschool a year before my class!

Q: What was your major?
A: Motherhood! I started my family young and poured myself into my beautiful daughter, Bayleigh.

Q: What did you want to do after school?
A: I wanted to help people. I spent several years working with the elderly and found it very rewarding. I later jumped from one end of the spectrum to the other and went to work as a Family Partner for the Head Start program, assisting low-income families and children with disabilities. I learned a lot about life during my time in both of these fields, but I also learned how hard it can be on the heart, so I decided it was time for a change. I was offered a position as a Payroll Specialist with a PEO in 2008, and the rest is history!

Q: What are your hobbies?
A: During my free time, I love being a mama to my 15-year-old daughter, Bayleigh, and my 5-year-old son, Gage. I have a great group of friends and enjoy spending time with them on a regular basis. I attend a local church and enjoy giving back to my community through volunteer projects. I also have a passion for reading and hope to one day open a cozy little bookstore. Oh, and one more thing, I love me some Georgia football! Go Dawgs!

Q: How did you wind up working for Insured Solutions?
A: I was approached by Becky Lerner, a longtime employee of Insured Solutions while assisting her with a new client implementation. I wasn’t really looking to make a change at that time, but decided to entertain the idea and met her for lunch. Fun fact, I wasn’t hired until two years after the initial meeting. What’s meant to be will be, even if it takes a while.

Q: What’s your role with Insured Solutions?
A: My role at Insured Solutions has evolved over the years. I was initially hired as a Client Service Representative, but moved to other areas of the company. I’m now in project management.

Q: What are your thoughts on your current position?
A: I’m happy with my current position, and look forward to what the future holds for me here.

Q: Was there anyone in particular that helped you get acclimated when you first started?
A: Becky Lerner was my go-to girl. She taught me so much about the company and made me feel very welcome.

Q: How would you describe the atmosphere of the office?
A: Relaxed and fun, while remaining professional. I couldn’t ask for a better group of people to work with.

Q: Has this helped you develop as a professional, and if so, how?
A: I’ve been given the opportunity to grow and expand my knowledge base. Coming from a PEO that was very departmentalized, I wasn’t given much opportunity to learn new things. Insured Solutions has given me that opportunity and it’s great!

Q: For those who are unfamiliar with Insured Solutions, what’s the one thing that you would want them to know about the company?
A: It’s a great group of people and a CEO who welcomes the opinions and ideas of his staff. I would definitely recommend working for Insured Solutions to others.

Q: Is there anything else you’d like to say about Insured Solutions?
A: I’m grateful for the opportunity to work here and look forward to many more years with the company.

Q: After what you’ve gained from Insured Solutions, where do you see yourself in 5 years?
A: The sky’s the limit!
